Healing & Playing w/ Harmonic Sound

MEN’S HARMONY GROUP

2nd & 4th Fridays, 6:30-8:30 pm

Manifest Studio (near NE Alberta & 22nd)

This group discovers the healing power of harmonic vibrations through improvisational singing & music making. The group is for men of all musical abilities (and none). The focus is on discovering the bodily experience of harmony by actually making sounds together and feeling their effects, rather than musical performance or understanding the “theory” of harmony.

Most of all we seek to have fun playing with sound.

We give one another a lot of permission to make all sorts of sounds as an experiential way of finding harmony on many levels. Beginners help us keep our exploration fun & fully present. Please bring your voice and any other musical instruments you might like to play with. Your voice and presence are plenty.

FACILITATORS: all participants co-create facilitation & the harmony of the group; and the following men are helping to facilitate through their loving presence: Palmer Pardington, who has sung in many choirs for decades; Alex Rosan, who was trained as an opera singer at the Boston Conservatory and who left to help make music fun for ordinary people; Eric Zimmerman, who has sung in gay men’s choruses for more than 20 years; Steve Arnold, who is a long-time musician.

DONATIONS: We appreciate sliding scale donations of $5-$15 to benefit Manifest/Q-LAND, a non-profit men’s wellness community: empowering men to manifest wellness & love through community. No one is turned away for lack of funds & work-study is available (please call in advance to schedule work-study).
